Anyway... Yesterday was a great great day! You see... The sermon yesterday was from victor teo (youth worker) and that from the bulletin, it shows clearly "Ps Ezekiel Tan" but that it was someone else to take the lead to the spiritual realm and understanding trip of it.
He shared the words from the bible not in a theological way but through a story, which in which amazes me and that find it very interestine and fresh! It targets the issues of "being mature in Christ". And i think that everyone in the youth and including myself need that alot. So here goes..
He started off with a pictire of a donkey...
"There was a donkey who lives in the wood and that he is a fresh christian. Accpeted Christ for quite a while, he had always enjoyed every sermon he has, clapping his donkey paws to everybeat the donkey worship leader leads, dancing on his donkey toes and balancing on one of it to dance, totally on fire for God and always have that flame burning bright and strong... But one day... Donkey felt sad... Never before he felt the emptiness of life. While searching his soul for an answer to the issues, a wise old owl appear and notice the donkey.
What happen donkey? Said the owl. Donkey raised his shabby downcasted eyes and replied
i felt dry".
Why do you feel it that way?
I don't know... i just felt that everything is meaningless
Have you thought of what happen than?
No...
Than, the owl handed donkey a phamplet and said : " You see... Everyone grows from a baby. A baby always have people to hug, always have free food, always have free lodging, always have fun, just like what you see in the phamplet. But turn it over, babies are helpless, baby are not independant and what's of all... babies are selfish."
The owl than said : " You see in hebrews it says that you have to be mature. You have to step up and stop being an over growth baby. Let put it this way, if you are to run a marathon, what will you go about doing?"
I'll sign up?
Than?
I'll run the race...
If you didn't complete the race?
I'll run the race the next year than...
If you didn't complete again?
I'll run the year after next, and after next than...
Finally, the owl said: " But you can't go on this way... You'll need to train. Train for the race and than run it with confident and conviction that you are able to finish it."
Following... "Over-growth baby is just like a farm of plants and all the riches of crops. But if all the plants refuses to grow and bear fruits, soon the field will be convered with thorns and the farmer will haver to cut it away and throw it in the fire." said the owl. "
Now... from what you have seen and read. What does it apply? Many times when we feel dry and worthless (like myself most of the time), we will find that we are always sitting down on the same spot for a long time and linger on it. Stand up... And move.. Every falls leads to a succees!
I always have this analogy (I don't know how true it will be). The more you fall sick to... The more your body will immune yourself to it the next time. This is what i see... With every fever i got due to cold aircon, the more resistant i am to cold temperature.
