Yea! Part 1 (Pre-Mission) of the journey on my mission. Now as I recall that very night after the last mission training (11th June), I was home playing on the computer with some "sacho"s, gaming away. And we sort of decided to like stay up all night and than go to the airport as the last bus is on 11.15pm and we need to reach there by 4.45am.
That night I was praying to God and also sort of think through what I wanted to achieve through this mission. And I was very assured that this missiion will not be of waste as I believe that God's work is more than just being there to touch lives.. but change them too!
So around 11.30pm I left my house to head down to the bus stop to catch the last bus to the airport. But strangly I waited like for 45 minutes, not a singe bus was in sight. I was like panicking as I told one of my "sacho" to meet in T1 @ around 12am. 12.35... Still no bus! Than I called wanting and lucky she wasn't out yet as her daddy was driving her there. So I thought it would be nice to catch a ride ^^
The best thing is that... I was suppose to meet my "sacho" in T1 and I thought I smsed him to meet @ T2.. So he did sms me back something but I was on the phone as some of the supporters were already there @ T2 mac waiting for us. (They were there @ around 10 plus.. Thank you so much Ying hui, Grace and Jerome)
Poor "sacho" (Aric) have to walk from T1 to T2 as there wasn't any sky train service and I think he's pretty angry. LOL!
Had really a good time taking photos on my friend's lappy (Built-in cam) making funny faces.. Laughing at each other.. chatting loudly althought there were people sleeping and studying there and also much much more. The fellowship was simply great!!! And we did share some inspiring encounters on our individual trips.
Soon enough.. the clock struck 3.50am and it signals we have to walk over to T1 as I was suppose to check in there (Don't ask me why I chose not to hang out @ T1 instead). Rather stupid me.. We lose our way as we travel and Changi Airport had never been so huge to me till that night. While we walk we sort of talk loudly.. laugh like some wild animal and making ourselves kings and queens of the road as we walk in the middle of the lane as there wasn't any bus or anything around. Finally we made it and it was just about time when we reach there... Soon the anxiety sets down as the excitment of mission just kicked in. With so much people I don't really click with and so much people whom I had never been chatting with, will soon become one as a group ministering to the Karen community.
Many faces appears.. many were tired.. many were excited.. some even drag on the "oh well.. here goes nothing" feeling; though that didn't show on their faces but.. yea! Prayer was being said and the final briefing.
Still remember my youth pastor (in his T-shirt "Action is lounder then words" and a berms.. kinda slack) saying something about the harvest and that being commissioned to be a blessing is more than just what God have given us. He bless us first! And it's gonna be an eye opener. (Paraphrased as I forgot where he quote from the Bible)
Boarding proceed @ 5am... carrying the hopes from many people back in Singapore, wishes, God's promise that we need to held on to, heavy hearts, heavy bags (duh!) and blessings.. (Of course with money and all neccessities too) we step on this journey to a much challenging environment.. committing ourselves to blessing others without any comfort zone to ponder upon. :)
