The war-ridded bunk
The preparation for the footdrill competition is ultimatly tiring! And finally it had been concluded with a champion to Charlie Company.
Although the glory is endless... but trust me I would never want to be in that situation again. Cause it is really crazy man!
Allow me to take stock of what was given into the footdrill competition preparation and practice:
8 full cans of liquid starch
tons of hours on boots polishing
The shinest boots I ever wore
tons of hours of footdrill pratice with and without mist gun (not as much as compared to "Alpha" and "Bravo" hehe.)
About 40 gallons worth of sweat?
Wasted 2 PT shirt
Washed uniform and PT shirt about thrice a day
blah blah blah.. the list goes on...
On that day itself... Literally everyone was shaking right down to their knees. And the uniform that we wore, huh! Could STAND UPRIGHT if you place them on the floor independently. And I do have quite a hard time donning on the uniform and least saying getting my hands and arms straight! And with boots that shine like disco balls... ahRr.. perfect!
The first assement was the uniform and it's 30 marks in total and the instructor were hoping to make it a full hit bull's eye for full mark!
Then the drill part + fancy. Video will be up ASAP.. HANG ON!!!
Being the 2nd to go... anxiety was there man! I was the right hand man for one of the command that needs to take exact dressing. IT WAS HORRIBLE MAN!!! I am so stress up being the FIRST man beside the right marker (any uniform group would understand) and every other 16 front man will need to take timing and alignment from me. AHRRR!!! Did got that screwed a lil I thought and also the turnings.
Deep inside me was really scare and worried! But how to pose a "oh-no problem" look when you're counting in your heart the timing and keeping in step with the line and ALSO anxiety! Hmm... I think I can try working in the stock exchange now!
And of course... The arch rival Alpha was all confident besides their intial starts with an "A" and they were pretty determine to win back the title since they lose it in the last intake; 104th.
And I must say they really did outshine us in many field! Fancy drill was superd! Dressings were good! And what matter was... They are the least affected by anxiety.
All eyes were on when the annoucement for the footdrill competition proceed. And this is how it goes.
"In 2nd, we have.... ALPHA!!"
Heart drop for a moment! I was like.. "HUH!!!!!!!" Bravo company is the least to expect to win man!!! Black horse??!!!
Then... With heads all bowed...
"Winner of the 105th footdrill competiton.... With just one point difference"
Than I was praying deeply in my heart "Father... Let your will be done!"
"CHARLIE!"
That moment I snapped and seriously I don't know what I'm doing.. Some fainted! A minority tears and almost ALL of the remainder were jumping and traunting.
But remarks were.. "Simon.. Almost all of the pictures, you seems to have your mouth open so darn wide and jumping like mad"
oppsss...
Thank God.
Some very funny remarks from the entire process of practice to final day.. find it amusing.
"**dissapointed** I know you guys are tired.. for the com.. those who believe in God; pray to God. Those believe in nothing; pray to the air. Those believe in yourself; pray somewhere else"
"looking @ your hentak-taki (stationary march) **singing** I'm so confuse~"
"now.. one min of silence! everyone pray to your own God... ... ... **pissed** Hey.. What happen if the other company pray that we lose?"
"... your rival said the trophy is nothing.. 'We could buy it!' But I tell you pride cannot be bought. Try going to beach road"
And my platoon seagent likes to drag his boots to a full stop. DARN cool!
