"Dear Student,
Congratulations! You have fulfilled all of the graduation criteria as stipulated for your Diploma course and will be graduating from Republic Polytechnic in AY0607 Semester 2."
These were the words that define the occupation from "student" to "unemployed". Wow... Looking back, it had been... 17 years in the education system already (inclusive from kindergarden to poly). If I am to add in uni life, that will be a cool 20 years man! WOW! How long can a person study man?! Besides the point... Now I felt that I do not just face the problem of knowing what's next in life, but also certain issue that regards my future and how should I lay my path/ pawns in order that this walk is the right one and a firm one.
One of the many issues I'm facing right now is joining staff. And certantly I'm still holding on to the bit and pieces of the jigsaw puzzle God had given me for the whole picture.
In the book "A table in the presence" by Lt Carey H. Cash, he too struggle from the fact that his father is from Navy and often engage in marine force in US. His grandfather too was a Navy officer... Coincidentally... His wife's granddad was in marine forces and is one of the greatest lengend of all time from the famous war of vietnam all the way to WWII.
He is in the midst of struggling in his military life and is hitting off in his journey towards his passion in joing the world's greatest force, the US Marine force. But just months after his marraige, he is diagnose to be down with a tumour in his head... and is quite a serious one. This tumour is located at the brain stem and is potentially highly dangerous to be remove through surgery. It's not cancerous but it leave symptoms like blurry vision and frequent light head experience or fainting spells. With that, he is considered "unfit" to be a soldier.
Through this, he manage to talk to his father-in-law whom is in the chaplaincy. Chaplaincy never cross his mind throughout the whole course because he is so blinded by the fact that he wanted to join the marines. And his father-in-law poped in a strage question... "Have you thought of being a chaplain?" After time of prayer and encouragment... He offered himself to the calling to be a chaplain... And he got his dream as well! A chaplain to the First battalion, fifth regiment US Navy Marine force.
"My heart nearly burst with joy. God's promise never fails, but to us it seemed that He really done the impossible this time"
Now this is something special that I would like to think about... Although not pretty sure how it seems like to me... But sure enough that I wouldn't want to make any rush decision this time
;)
