First morning @ Noh Bo Academy
The arrival of the convoys were around 11pm late @ night and it was drizzling while we found human chain on the muddy ground and pass our heavy bags to the "Mother's Union" and than settle down with some briefing and some contribution of mosquito net from the local.
The first morning was pretty refreshing as that night it was pouring very heavily, and I was afraid that it will hit a hole on the zinc roof that shelter us. Apparently it's fine! Thank God! So we woke up at around 8am (9am in Singapore) and started to have a spread on the breakfast. The thing about it was that.. every meal consist of rice, and that makes me confuse that the meal I'm going to have.. was it breakfast?... uhh.. lunch? No no!! dinner?! Supper? Haha. Nevertheless.. it was fried rice and eggs! Tasty vilage food. I've always like village food as it is alwasy the most original.. most fresh and best in quality. (Cook right on the spot)
We headed down to the long house where the classrooms are suppose to be and carrys a sense of desire to meet these 180 so called youth of Noh Bo acedemy. When I arrive there.. I was literally rooted to the ground when strait of tanned skinned people walked in. What to do?! I wasn't ready for this yet!!
So Joanne and myself sort of decided to walk over to a table full with girls and make ourselves fimiliar to them.. But avail! Other than pronouncing our names, they seems to be lose when we talk to them. GOSH! But nevertheless we still manage to like get to make them smile. (to warm things up alittle I guess) Basically we just prepare ourselves there by like staring @ each otehr for a while before they went to their morning assembly and sung the national song and say their pledge. Seems very much like in Singapore. Than after that.. When they step into the classroom.. Immediatly they stood up and sung another song. At first I thought that was some welcome song for us.. But I later figure out (after a few morning sessions) that it was actually their school song. So conincidental!
Next was that we started out teaching them the walk through starting from "creation" to "Tera"
I'm suppose to lead the last few which is the story of abraham, unknowingly I overstep into the teaching part of my other teammate! GOSH! And I was like so into it teaching that I didn't even realise that what I've taught was more than I've prepared!
But that was a beautiful mistake anyway. Straight after that we have had lunch while the youth will be playing soccer/ lunch. This moment I was busying preparing my testimony for the night's rally. Kinda anxious (Those teamate reading.. I bet you guys didn't know that :P ) and was rehearsing in my mind over and over again. Than soon enough.. The moment have come as the evening fades into a beautiful star-filled night.
We started out a series of hand signs with praise/ worship and it was seriously good! It works out so well that the whole hall was literally shaking and stomping as those youth and ourselves were drench in sweat and jumping away! The spirit is like so high!!!!! NICE! Praise the Lord. Than my testimony with the accompanying of a interpreter (Christone --> Hope I spelled that right) and I thought I had quite a struggle connecting my thoughts time after time with pause and making my words simpler.
The night ends off with quite a high peak by a sermon by nick.. fellow mission mate and than a mini ministry time. Not very active.. but atleast we tried.
A time of round-up follows as Ps Tang was sharing on Lazerus and the Rich man that we need to always be prepare to serve, understand the need and also seeing the need. For what is lost here this moment will never be brought back again. Treasure the time and chances you have here and siezing eery opportunities from God to make it worth while in this race on Earth. More of flies swapping b4 we turn in to sleep. Guess what.. It rains again! And it was so timely... Praise God!
